My Advice for First Steps in High School
I sincerely congratulate you on your admission to start high school. As you begin, I invite you to ask yourself the following questions: What is my overall goal in this school? What friends will I have? Will I participate in extracurricular activities? How will I respond to my teachers and relate to my colleagues? Think deeply about these. Pause for a moment to give answers to some or all of them. And see if you can align your responses with my advice.
The Movie Rating System
Any medium such as radio, television, newspapers and magazines is used by the government in its own interests. Hollywood movies are no exception, which has a great impact on population due to their popularity among Americans.
College Books Should Be Given to Students for Free
Higher education in United States is the most expensive in the world. Books in the colleges are also costly, so if a college does not provide them to the students, they have to find some other way to reduce the cost of purchasing books.
Why I Want to Do Early Childhood Education
Early childhood education is one of the most interesting types of teaching for me, as it involves work with the youngest children. I think that the majority of people underestimate the possibilities and opportunities open for these little personalities, which results in poor attention paid to their development. I want to do early childhood education, as I want to change this situation.
PhD Topics on James Fenimore Cooper
It has never been easy for students to choose topics for their papers, especially at the PhD level. The reason is that at this level students are required to deliver results that are of no lower level than the one of well-educated person who is ready to perform his/her own research and make certain contribution in the subject field of his choice.
Community Worker Code of Ethics
Codes of ethics are quite widespread for community workers, and in Australia they are one of the main priorities of work. They represent a set of standards of ethical practice that all the workers should meet when serving the community. They usually determine the ethical principles of behavior, the decision-making process and responsibilities social workers have as professionals.
Committing sex crimes is one of the most wide-spread types of offense, and it is one of the scariest ones, as often it is targeted at children. In different countries there are various jurisdictions applicable for sex offenders and various definitions of sex crimes. They can be minor, such as receiving or sending obscene content in SMS messages, and can be such that involve a victim or several victims. And the latter kind of cases is the one, towards which the government prevention efforts are directed.
Do We Really Know How to Listen?
It is generally known that to hear and to listen is two different concepts. While the first one is easy for everyone who doesn’t have problems with the sense of hearing, listening requires much more from a person. For instance, to listen carefully you need to be concentrated, attentive and responsive. Some people underestimate the value of listening, which is one of their major faults. So, is it really important to know how to listen?
Where Is It Better to Live – in the Mountains or Near the Beach?
For me there is no dilemma in this question, as from my childhood till now I don’t like vocations spent at seas and don’t really enjoy swimming and sunbathing. And thus, living on the beach is not so tempting for me. Why? I think, I am just bored there and don’t understand those people who are ready to spend hours lying in the sun and doing nothing. For me it seems like a huge waste of time.
How Religious Are Young People?
In many cultures religion is considered to be a part of tradition, and as such it is seen as an integral part of social life. However, younger people are not likely to be tied to tradition, and are more prone to expose themselves to diverse cultural influences. Youth considers religion to be a practice of the elderly. This is due to the fact that people are seen to embrace religion as they age and get closer to death, thus seeking the scenario of an afterlife for comfort. Young people are introduced to religion by their parents, but many of them decide to abandon their faith later in life. Studies conducted on Protestants aged between 18 and 30 showed that seventy percent of them stopped going to church by the age of 23, despite having attended it regularly in high school (Wilson, 2009).
