All of us are born in a family, which lives in a certain country at a specific point of time. Our outlook and perspective in life are largely shaped by the environment, in which we live. The inputs we have in our life would determine what kind of people we grow up to become. What goes into our minds can greatly influence what comes out of it later. No matter where a person is born and raised up, a wide exposure to other cultures and lands would have a profound influence on having the right perspective of the world around us.
It is human nature to preserve oneself in the first place. Still, we have some good traits that make us reach out to help those in need. We do this as individuals, as communities and even as nations. The outcome of giving international aid to poor countries has both advantages and disadvantages. We will briefly consider the disadvantages and the advantages below.
Language is one of the most complex entities known to people. We make use of a variety of languages around the world. Each person is even born with a mother tongue. Yet, we have not been able to completely understand the workings of a language. That is because language is not a manmade entity. Human beings did not sit down one day and decide to create different languages. According to the “Tower of Babel” account, the Lord Almighty created different languages in an effort to deter man from pursuing this evil project of building a tower up to heaven.
How would you like the idea of being locked in the cage and having thousands of people looking at you every day for their pleasure? Nobody would like things like that. But that’s an ordinary treatment animals get in the zoos. To my point of view, it is strictly important to forbid such places like zoos, as they are unsuitable to maintain the health and habits of poor animals.
It is universally known that going in for sports is an important component of healthy life. Almost all the people who want to feel good and look attractive go in for this or that kind of sports. Apart from positive influence on physical state, sport activities also provoke the secretion of endorphin – hormone responsible for happiness. Thus, sport is healthy both physically and emotionally.
When I was young, I remember a lot of boys, dreaming about becoming policemen to protect people from evil and violence and to be guardians of peace and order. The job police do is worth respect, which goes without saying. But nowadays the image of a strong policeman facing danger and protecting the life of simple citizens is darkened by a great amount of scandals with drugs and power abuse police have been involved in. There are a lot of stories that pop up here and there, where guys in blue uniform appear not as protectors, but as criminals. There are a lot of facts confirming that the behavior of the police very often is inexcusable: they can harass or beat people, take bribes and humiliate citizens for no reason. So instead of respect, people feel fear and disgust to the police in general, which does not do good to the patriotism or national pride for the state we are living in.
Not so long ago it turned out so, that I found myself at the hospital for recovery period after quite a serious surgical operation. My doctor was perfect – a real professional surgeon with a bit severe, but extremely careful attitude to a patient. Anyway, it was my nurse, who stuck in my memory, because she was taking care not only of my body, but also gave me great emotional support, which was more than necessary for me after a surgery when I felt weak and scared.
Beowulf is one of the most significant epics written in the period when people were on their way from Paganism to Christianity. The Anglo-Saxon epic story was created in the 8th century. It is one of the brightest examples of the Old English epics. Unfortunately, the name of the author who wrote Beowulf is still unknown, but the majority of literature experts believe that it was originally written by the poet who was Christian and the story was some sort of reflection of this religion’s tradition. Still, some of the literature experts believe that Beowulf was the creation of pagan folklorists with some Christian elements. Through the whole epic, just like in the final between Beowulf and the dragon, it is possible to notice different parallels that the author builds up between the Christian and pagan beliefs.
Benito Mussolini was born on July 29, 1883 in Dovia di Predappio village, which is located in Northeastern Italia. There were two more kids in the family. Thus, Benito wasn’t alone and had a sister named Edvige and a brother named Armaldo. Little kids used to fight for different pretty things, but still they lived happily. Benito was brought up in an intelligent family, as his mother Rosa Malteni was a highly respected teacher at local school. The father of the boy, Allesandro Mussolini, a blacksmith and a committee socialist, was strong and brave person. The name Benito, which was given to the boy, came from the Mexican Revolutionary Juarez. Nevertheless, Benito grew up without any sort of manners and what is more, felonious and ill-behaved. Benito was constantly bullying the other kids at school and as a result he was the participant of every possible fight with children.
A lot of health care workers are worried about the problem of lack of physical activity all over the world, which is quite understandable. Modern kids’ obesity is increasing all over the world, bringing potential problems for them when they become adults. Health ramifications caused by obesity problem are the reasons why kids face different types of diseases when they grow up (hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, cancer). Parents are the only ones who can prevent their kids from such sufferings. That is why it is vitally important to understand the whole importance of physical activity and all consequences of its absence.
