The Mass Media is a unique feature of our modern society, a society that completely depends on information and communication. Its flow penetrates us through TV, papers, Internet and influences our actions, engagements, leisure time and even standards of life. We have a trust in the media as an authority to give us news, entertainment and education. However, it can influence the public opinion in different ways depending on who is the manipulator and what is the objective.
The capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland London is the international cultural center, the capital of the posh lifestyle and the oasis of the “everlasting values”.
Historically London is divided into several districts. The City is the oldest and one of the most famous districts. Nowadays it is the first-rate European financial center. Belgravia, Kensington, Chelsea, Mayfair and Knightsbridge are the blue-chip districts of the capital. The Soho district was created at the end of the XVII century and today it is predominantly a fashionable district of London’s bohemia. The China Town and Covent Garden are also a part of Soho. The ancient political district of Westminster is known for Buckingham Palace – Queen’s Residence, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
What does a dream mean if taken on a scale of people’s life? Apparently, it means a lot; because people are used to hold on to their dreams, to protect them from the infringements of the other people, to strongly believe that without dreams their life will be ordinary and senseless.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves”. (1 Corinthians 13:1)
When the world seems to turn upside down, when your life seems to be totally ruined – the only person we can rely upon during these tough times and the only shoulder we can cry on without any uneasiness is our friend. I got used to believe that friendship is an everlasting phenomenon and it is truly forever. I stick to the opinion, that true friendship is never-ending. Life is unpredictable and we never know what may happen tomorrow. I’ve a lot of friends but only few of them are real. We’ve gone through many difficulties together and now my heart is aching at the thought that we are living in different countries because of life circumstances.
War is, first of all, a behavior pattern that means a definite state of organized conflict between two or more social entities. The main reason for such a conflict is an attempt to be on top of hierarchy either psychological or material. Aspect of domination is basic for all wars throughout history. But all over the history war was undertaken as noble. Nowadays we can postulate war not only as undesirable but also as morally problematic issue.
Are there reasonable causes to start a war? It is obvious that the issue is deeper than it seems. Pacifists will surely announce that there are no fair reasons to start any kind of war. Other point of view lies in accepting perceived threat as possible viable reason for a war.
Over the past few years there has been a multitude of complaints about the violent content of video games and it has been suggested that they can make players more aggressive in real life. The fact that video games are getting more and more elaborate and violent can’t be denied – game designers strive to make images more realistic and show the injuries the characters get or their suffering in agony. However, blaming games for aggression outside the virtual world appears to be ungrounded and exaggerated.
Socialization is the process when the person learns different aspects of life interacting with other people from his or her environment. Every individual is connected with the other people and makes all decisions in accordance with the principle “we influence those who is influencing us”.
For years supporters of two different approaches to sex education, that is pro-abstinence sex education and comprehensive sex education, have been involved in a blazing discussion. Those who advocate the first approach believe that abstaining from sex is the best way to avoid out of wedlock pregnancy, STDs and HIV. They also consider that providing children with abundant information about sex and related issues results in early sexual experimentation. However, this type of sex education does not seem to yield substantial results.
