Society & Family - Part 2
An Overview of Abortion
Abortion refers to the termination of a pregnancy by removing or expelling the fetus or embryo from the uterus before it is ready for birth. There are two major forms of abortion: spontaneous, which is often referred to as a miscarriage or the purposeful abortion, which is often induced abortion. The term abortion is commonly used to refer to the induced abortion, and this is the abortion, which has been filled with controversy. In the developed nations, induced abortions are the safest form of medical procedures in medicine if it is conducted under the local law.
Development in Bangladesh
When examining certain concepts in economics or any other technical field there are terms used that will depend on the field of expertise. These terms are called jargon.
- While most think that these refer to especially technical definitions, they are but they could be referred to as the slang that is used in a particular field and change during periods depending on the consent of the field experts themselves.
Man Is a Social Animal
The first time when man was defined as a social animal was back in the ancient times. Aristotle wrote in his Politics: “Hence it is evident that the state is a creation of nature and that man by nature is a political animal.” Political here can be interpreted as social due to the meaning of the Greek word politikos, which meant the social aspect as well.
Committing sex crimes is one of the most wide-spread types of offense, and it is one of the scariest ones, as often it is targeted at children. In different countries there are various jurisdictions applicable for sex offenders and various definitions of sex crimes. They can be minor, such as receiving or sending obscene content in SMS messages, and can be such that involve a victim or several victims. And the latter kind of cases is the one, towards which the government prevention efforts are directed.
How Religious Are Young People?
In many cultures religion is considered to be a part of tradition, and as such it is seen as an integral part of social life. However, younger people are not likely to be tied to tradition, and are more prone to expose themselves to diverse cultural influences. Youth considers religion to be a practice of the elderly. This is due to the fact that people are seen to embrace religion as they age and get closer to death, thus seeking the scenario of an afterlife for comfort. Young people are introduced to religion by their parents, but many of them decide to abandon their faith later in life. Studies conducted on Protestants aged between 18 and 30 showed that seventy percent of them stopped going to church by the age of 23, despite having attended it regularly in high school (Wilson, 2009).
Father’s Role in Child’s Upbringing
It was always well-known that father is an important and very influential person for everyone, although in the past his role was often underestimated. Why it was so? Why has this situation changed? I will explain my point of view.
The standpoint that father is not so important for a child was formed first of all because children from the very moment of their birth are more attached to their mother, as they need their milk, love and care. Moreover, fathers are often busy at work, seeing their children less frequently.
Is It Better to Be the Only Child or to Have Brothers and Sisters?
Some people like being the only children, others don’t. Why? Each of them is brought up in different circumstances and situations, which influences their character greatly, as well as defines a lot in their future. So, what are the main reasons of people’s like or dislike of being raised without brothers and sisters?
Why Are People Still Superstitious?
Despite the fact that science is developing by leaps and bounds, the majority of people still have certain superstitions. Why is it so? I think that it is one of many interesting peculiarities of our mind and psychology, which are hard to explain, but still exist.
Effects of Divorce Upon Children
When people say that divorce is one of the most difficult realities for children, I agree with them, as I was one of such kids. But still, I think that it is not reasonable to continue relationships with a person whom you don’t love anymore, or even hate only because of kids. To my mind, the effect of such relationships will be even worse, and I will try to explain why.
Possible Consequences of Marijuana Legalization
Legal position of marijuana has been one of the most controversial topics for many decades. As of today, in the majority of countries possession, consumption, transfer and cultivation of cannabis is prohibited by law and results in serious consequences. Still, there are countries, in which marijuana is not only legal, but also attracts travelers from all around the world (Holland, for instance). Let us consider what consequences could be brought about by marijuana legalization and would it be reasonable to legalize it?
