The majority of society members are broadening the expectations they have for the universities. In this case people are taking into consideration values of personal human capital. The majority of people require from the higher education more concentration on the skills of transferable workplace. Students usually ask two similar questions: “Why should I go through all these university courses if they are absolutely useless for my future career?” and “What kind of job can I obtain with such a degree?” The problem is that the majority of the universities do not have such a specific aim – to prepare students for the future career. They do not take into consideration economic needs of society. Thus, students leave university buildings without skills in how to survive in the economic area of society needs.
Usually, when the question is about who is a better sportsman – a white or black one – people tend to prefer the latter one. Why so? To talk about the racial differences (physical and cultural) it is important to say that in the past it was all about the discrimination excuses. Nowadays, the dominancy of black sportsmen is no wonder anymore, but still this aspect makes people think what the reason of black dominancy is. Nevertheless, the majority of scientists in the United States of America are not really concerned with the study of the white & black people’s physical differences.
From the very beginning of our world’s existence there have always been class distinctions. Some people were rich and others were trying to make both ends meet. There has also existed one significant question – should wealthy nations share their reserves with the countries that are poorer? Is it important to provide them with food and other things required for life? Or is it the responsibility of the poor country government to take care of its citizens?
It is so much fun to watch how science fiction stories become reality – like laser guns and genetic engineering. Due to all the talks about ecology, more and more plots tell us about some kind of huge disasters that threaten humankind and make the bravest go find a new shelter in the outer space. If you take ecological threats seriously, they seem to be good reasons for space exploration.
Today all we hear about is growing quantity of abortions, kids getting pregnant, all kinds of sexual transmitted diseases being spread. Sexuality-connected problems are on the rise. What we need to think about is the cause and possible ways of changing the situation. Most people think that if there was more information on sexual relations, the number of these cases could probably be reduced to minimum.
In Great Britain, when some people are getting older, they usually go to the homes for elderly people, where nurses are taking care of them. Sometimes such service is paid by the government, but still there’s a question if the city should pay for it, or is it up to us to take care of our grandparents?
Timon of Athens is considered to be one of the most obscure and complicated pieces ever created by Shakespeare. The play has a very extraordinary composition and some of the researchers are sure it was not completed. Moreover, supposedly, it has some additions, made by other authors.
The Two Gentlemen of Verona is known to be the first play created by William Shakespeare. It was never staged while he was alive. Some critics say that, if compared to later works of the great Englishman, it looks a bit immature, but as in every work of the author, the eternal life questions are asked in the play.
The Merchant of Venice is one of the best-known plays of William Shakespeare. Its genre is traditionally defined as a comedy, however, the tragedy of the key character gives the possibility to call it a drama.
“The Comedy of Errors” was written in early 1590ies and is considered to be one of William Shakespeare’s earliest plays. Being both the shortest and the most farcical, the play is characterized by unusual for Shakespeare humorous devices, as the humor mainly comes from slapstick and mistaken identity, as well as from traditional for him puns and play on words.
