There are more and more cars sold each year all around the world especially in developed countries. With cars being so convenient, it is no wonder the trend is consistent. However, they also raise a whole scope of problems: air pollution, congestion, lack of parking space, the necessity of recycling schemes. Only in Britain the number of cars now roughly equals half of Britain’s population. It is clear that the growth must somehow be limited. This can be done in two ways.
As You Like It is a play by William Shakespeare, which belongs to once popular genre of a pastoral comedy and was based upon a prose romance Rosalynde by Thomas Lodge. The plot describes the adventures of main heroine Rosalind, who, being oppressed by her uncle, tries to find safety in the Forest of Arden, but eventually finds love.
The story of Antony and Cleopatra and their fatal love gained massive popularity in the Renaissance period and was used for both theatrical plays and poems. Most of them exploited the plot described in Plutarch’s Life of Marcus Antonius. And William Shakespeare is not an exception here. However, having taken the same story line, he managed to create a play full of vivid characters. One of them is Cleopatra, who is considered to be one of the most complex female characters in Shakespearean plays.
Since the dawn of civilization, men have been responsible for hunting and providing food to their families. Women had to look after the needs of the family and raise the kids. This has been the norm for several millennia until the world wars. During the First and the Second World Wars, when the men went away to fight, the factories and business establishments hired women to replace them in large numbers. Until the First World War, the kinds of weapons used in battles had limited potential to destroy life and property on a large scale. Computer is probably the greatest invention in the last hundred years. The impact that it has created on our lives is tremendous. It affects so many areas of our daily routine like no other single invention has ever managed to accomplish. We are becoming more and more dependent on the computer with the passage of time. Right from weather predictions to the fuel injection systems in our cars make use of computers. We are dependent on one single kind of machine to run our lives like no other generation that lived before us. And this trend is all set to continue in the future as well.
Nowadays people from all over the world are suffering from the air pollution. One of the reasons of such situation is the constantly increasing car usage. Are we able to do something in order to encourage people not to use private cars or to use them less? To be honest, there are only several things we can do. Among them is propaganda of the risks caused by the private cars usage. We can provide people with the main benefits they can get by using public transport and make the transportation prices more affordable.
In most cases any travel opportunity is an exciting perspective you are impatiently looking forward to. Going overseas to study in some university is definitely an expectation of this kind, though it has its pros and cons. Therefore, the matter requires precise study before any decision is made, be it for or against.
