Question 1. A function assigns a unique output value to every input value. This definition implies that a vertical line cannot intersect a function in more than one place (Stewart). The set of input values is known as the domain of a function. The set of output values is known as the range of a function.
An example of a linear function is,

Clinical and non-clinical methods to treat ADHD has gathered momentum ever since, the syndrome of this disorder began to surface alarmingly in children. ADHD is mostly associated with emotional and behavioral disorders and because of this, professionals find it difficult to diagnose. It can therefore be said that ADHD is more than the inability to focus; it is a self-regulatory disorder. Such symptoms as inattentiveness and impulsiveness occur across a range of childhood problems and can be misleading.
According to the released Bureau of Labor Statistics, the rate of unemployment in United States has increased over at an alarming rate. Approximately 11.3 million people in the country are unemployed. This is approximately 7.3 percent of the national population. This has affected the economy of the country negatively. According to the report, the number of people who were temporarily laid off had risen by approximately 448 000 people.
Mary Pratt, the author of “Arts of the Contact Zone” begins the article by stating the definition of the term, or concept of what she refers to as the “contact zone”. In doing so, she engages her audience in the story of how her son learnt a lot through baseball; and was able to connect to the world through baseball. The first page of the article is an account of how Mary’s son learnt science, math, history, and even language, through baseball cards.
Narratives such as “Trifles” by Susan Glaspell (1916) evoke images of women as insignificant beings in a male dominated society (p. 21 ). Male attitudes towards women often prevented them from seeing what was in front of them. The female characters were all too aware who had murdered and the reason she likely committed it. The trifles as the male characters called the feminine objects were essential to solving the murder as well as understanding what drove the protagonist to act as she did (Glaspell, 1916, p. 21). The climax was particularly telling when the female characters told the attorney the suspect had intended to know the quilt pieces together (Glaspell, 1916, p. 22).
The story Sonny’s Blues by James Baldwin (1957) explores the theme of suffering experienced by Black Americans as individuals fettered by discrimination, unemployment, housing problems, drug addiction, imprisonment and suicide. It features the struggle of two brothers separated and caught in the entanglements of time, space and ideals.
General Motors (GM)is a United States vehicle manufacturer based in Detroit, Michigan, known for brands such as Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and Cadillac. William “Billy” Durant founded GM on September 16, 1908; he was already a successful manufacturer of horse-drawn vehicles (“Company: History”). GM’s mission statement is, “G.M. is a multinational corporation engaged in socially responsible operations, worldwide. It is dedicated to provide products and services of such quality that our customers will receive superior value while our employees and business partners will share in our success and our stock-holders will receive a sustained superior return on their investment” (“Mission Statements”).
Business communication forms an important aspect in the growth and development of an organization. Many organizations have worked their best to ensure communication in the workplace works at the best way possible through introducing different communication management incentive. Communication acts as a mean of transmitting information increasing the understanding amongst workers.
The mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School increased my interest on the essence of controlling firearm. I strongly believe that everyone is entitled to a safe environment and as such freedom of life in general. Currently, gun-related deaths have become rampant in the United States. There are various positive arguments that support the use of gun in certain circumstances. For instance, victims of rape, assault, and robberies are less likely to suffer in case they arm themselves with guns.
According to Douglas and Emily (2011), business environment has changed significantly recently. To survive in this dynamic business environment, businesses have been forced to adapt various strategies, among them being the integration of corporate social responsibility (CSR) into their business models. Bendell (2005) argues that, there is no single definite definition of what CSR is, as various organizations define this concept in different ways.
